Heya! Welcome to the personal website of the person usually called Littlewhitemouse and occasionally called leitsterne. I've lived here on the internet for many long years but never bothered to make a personal website of my own.
If you've seen me around before, it was probably either on tumblr or on Archive of our Own. You also probably spoke to me breifly and then wondered what happened to me. I am a life-long flake who struggles to stay on one task or in contact with any one person for too long. It wasn't personal!
For now this frontpage will serve as a group of links to places where I still am online (it isn't many). Eventually my goal is to host my writing/art here myself, so that I can be less worried about things suddenly dissapearing on me because someone else controls the website. Yes, I was on ff.net in the 2000s, why do you ask?
On occasion I have someone ask my why I chose 'littlewhitemouse' as my internet username. I use it on just about every website, after all. And I have foudn out recently that someone active on gaming forums for games I have never played uses the same username--sorry for the confusion! If it helps, I've been using this one here or there since 2011.
As for why 'littlewhitemouse'... I really didn't mean for it to stick! I chose it for the username of my first tumblr in 2011. At that time I didn't have a username I used reliably on every website, I tended to make a new one each time (so no, you won't find an ancient Gaia Online account kicking around, because I don't remember what I called myself there.) But then, when I needed a name for my AO3 account, I chose the same one; because AO3 is now my home online, I have no way out, ha ha. Besides, I don't like having lots of pseudonyms, it's too hard to keep track of.
As for where it came from... on that day when I opened that first tumblr account, I had had a dream the night before. In the dream, I found myself in a church, watching a pack of mice run around an altar full of candles. In the way of dreams, I knew that all the mice in the church would be killed, so I decided to sneak one away and rescue it, choosing the smallest, whitest mouse there was. I took it home, fed it, cared for it--but for naught, because the minute I left the house, somone squashed her flat :< I was still feeling sad about the dream and spontaneously named myself after the dream-mouse when faced with the dilemma of choosing a new username again. Now I am stuck this way.
ARCHIVE OF OUR OWN ACCOUNT: Littlewhitemouse
That's me! No pseuds, no other accounts. This is my one and only home on the AO3. My account is ten years old and looks like it; I have nearly a million words posted. There is a five-year gap in use from 2014 to 2019--without going into details, they were five hard years. How often I'm posting new things and interacting fluctates based on my Mood Disorder, how much I have going on IRL, and how hyperfocused I am on personal/original fiction projects.
For extra 'fun', here is a very embarassing link to the fanfiction.net account I had as a teenager. To reiterate, the content on here was written by a teenager. I consider it to all be 'bad'. I firmly disagree with deleting anything from the internet unless it is harming people; even though the stuff on here is cringe, I would never delete it of my free will. There were people who enjoyed it at the time and there may be people trying to find a fic they once rtead in the future and I wouldn't deprive them of that. Though, fun fact, ff.net DID delete one of my old fics in one of their anti-porn purges. It was some of the first porn I wrote and I was so proud to be censored at the time. This is also the only ff.net account I ever had, no pseuds here either.
TUMBLR ACCOUNT: littlewhitemouseagain
Holy moley am I well and stuck on this website. I made my first tumblr in 2011, but lost access to it in one of the great site purges. FWIW, that original tumblr was this one. Obviously, it's dead; I don't have access to it and no one else should. It's now a tume capulse of me as a younger person, so I just ask you don't judge her too harsly.
As my current tumblr indicates, I use tumblr as a junk drawer. I don't put a ton of original content there, I mostly reblog and occasionally interact with people I know. IF you're interested, right here is a link to my personal tag, meaning it only contains posts I wrote myself (or contributed a lot of text to). This is the closet thing I have to an online journal proper, I suppose!
OTHER WEBSITES
TWITTER: I did breifly have a twitter. I was @leitsterne. Now I cannot even access it. I can't even get the link to link it. This is a shame, because that was one of the only period sof my life I was posting art online. Oh well. Hopefully I can use this website to put some back up!
KINSTUGI: Once upon a time, and it was a wonderful time while it lasted, I spent most of my time online at kintsugi.seebs.net, an online all-interests fandom forum started by Peter 'Seebs' Seebach. Seebs was well-known for giving honestly good life advice on his tumblr, so much so that he ended up having to honest-to-goodness make a forum to keep up with all the incredibly long conversation chains he spawned while debugging other people's lives. That forum bloomed into a huge, weird community that was equally self-help/therapy and fandom bullshit, and it was a fantastic and strange place for a while. Our dedication to welcoming absolutely anyone eventually unravelled when some bad actors took over the forum and drove most casual users away. I went by both 'leitstern' and 'littlewhitemouse' on Kintsugi, though I can't link ot my page because it is private. I can, however, link to the thread I used as a minature personal blog for a while! That's neat, because it has some art on it.
FLIGHT RISING: I also used to spend a TON of time on Flight Rising before I lost interest. Though I still have a lot of emotional attachments to my sweet little dragons that pulls me back sometimes. I was/am littlewhitemouse there too.
